Meth, $150K cash, gold bars found in Kaimuki apartment raid

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Honolulu man is facing federal drug trafficking charges following a major law enforcement investigation.

Authorities said Kaimuki resident Maximilion Bautista,72, is accused of being a major methamphetamine dealer in Hawaii and could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Bautista was charged after federal agents, state sheriff’s deputies, and Honolulu police raided his apartment in the 600 block of 12th Avenue early Thursday morning.

About 40 agents and officers were part of the operation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration which sent their Special Agent in Charge, Anthony Chrysanthis from Los Angeles to Honolulu for the raid.

Undercover operations lead to charges

According to the federal complaint, on Jan. 9, a confidential informant negotiated a deal with Bautista to get a pound of meth for $2,500. The informant was wearing a recording device.

Later that month, the informant arranged a bigger transaction — this time, two pounds of methamphetamine for $5,000…
