HONOLULU (KHON2) — They look like bank machines since they sit in everyday places. But for many in Hawaiʻi, that’s where the trouble starts.
Cryptocurrency kiosks, often called Bitcoin ATMs, are spreading across supermarkets, pharmacies and gas stations throughout the state. They promise quick access to digital money, but they also give scammers a fast way to take cash.
