Rep. Tokuda visits North Shore flood zones, considers solutions for future disasters

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Last Wednesday, North Shore businesses and residents were visited by U.S. Representative Jill Tokuda, D-Hawaii, who said recovery from the recent Kona Low storms is far from over.

“People still need a lot of help,“ Tokuda said. ”I was out in Waianae the other day, even out here, in Waiaua North Shore, still areas where there’s massive amounts of flooding. Still debris piled up.”

She expressed concern about still, standing water in some areas, like Pa’akea Road out west, and drains need to be cleared…
