Thousands of residents across Oahu without power during severe weather

HONOLULU (Island News) — Power outages are affecting several parts of Oahu on Friday afternoon during the stormy weather. Hawaiian Electric is working to restore power to affected customers.

According to Hawaiian Electric, the series of outages began Friday at 2:20 p.m. in the Ewa Beach area at about 1,410 customers and rose to 2,070 in half an hour. Power was restored to some customers since 6 p.m. and even more by 7:30 p.m.

About 3,780 customers are without power in Kaneohe, as of 3 p.m. Power was restored to some customers by 5 p.m…
