Spring Branch ISD has settled a lawsuit over the death of a student with disabilities after his parents alleged the district failed to help him when he swallowed and choked on a rubber glove.
In 2023, a Stratford High School student with autism and Williams Beuren deletion syndrome fell unconscious on campus before he was taken to a hospital and declared brain dead two days later, according to court documents. His parents sued the district two years later for compensatory damages, claiming the district was aware that their son had a tendency to put random objects in his mouth and did not administer first aid in a timely matter.
