Texas Children’s Hospital says it has no more ‘viable options’ to treat toddler who nearly drowned

Texas Children’s Hospital said Saturday it has “exhausted all medically viable options” for a 2-year-old girl who has been on life support since she nearly drowned on Memorial Day.

Annelise Camp’s family was visiting relatives in Harris County on May 25, when family members found her unresponsive in a hotel pool, according to court documents. Paramedics performed CPR and took the toddler to Texas Children’s West Campus facility, where she has been dependent on a ventilator to breathe.

Her parents requested a temporary restraining order to prevent the hospital from taking the child off life support, and the hospital agreed that it would not act before a scheduled June 11 hearing…
