Man gets 22 years in prison in robbery of home of Astros star Jose Altuve

HOUSTON (CW39) — A man was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison from a million-dollar burglary of the home of Houston Astros star Jose Altuve.

Patrick Maxey was sentenced to 22 years by a Harris County judge after he pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation.Prosecutors said Maxey helped steal more than $1 million in designer watches and gold jewelry from Altuve’s Hedwig Village home in 2023.During sentencing, prosecutors said the nine-time All-Star second baseman wanted a life sentence.Investigators said surveillance video and GPS data helped connect Maxey to the crime.Another man identified as the mastermind of the burglary was previously sentenced to 25 years, while two other cases linked to the theft remain pending.
