Houston’s gritty heavyweight George Foreman had a heart of gold

It was Nov. 5, 1994, and George Foreman was a hulking form of a man, all muscle and grit as he faced Michael Moorer in a heavyweight title bout at the MGM Grand in Nevada.

The undefeated Moorer was favored to win, younger and lighter on his feet than 45-year-old Foreman, dubbed “Big George” since winning a gold medal for the U.S. at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.
