Pearland Animal Shelter launches Doggy Day Out program to boost adoptions

Pearland Animal Services is letting the dogs out with the launch of its Doggy Day Out program, an initiative to facilitate adoption.

Whether it’s a walk at a park, a car ride for a pup cup, an out-and-about day at local pet-friendly hot spots, or a staycation at a home, the program gives the public a chance to spend time with shelter dogs outside of the shelter.

For many dogs, shelters can be a scary, stressful place, and Doggy Day Out allows the pet to get away to be outside with an attentive host or inside the comforts of home and be socialized – if only for an afternoon, said Randee Guy, program coordinator for Pearland Animal Services…
