Firefighter hurt, but stable, after crews put out apartment fire in west Houston, HFD says

A blaze that started on the third floor of a west Houston apartment building spread down to the second floor, according to the Houston Police Department.

Authorities said the fire was first reported at an apartment complex near the intersection of Briar Forest Drive and Tanglewilde Street in west Houston on Saturday afternoon.

The Houston Fire Department told Eyewitness News that the fire was put out before 6:30 p.m. Officials added that a firefighter injured his shoulder and was taken to the hospital, but that he was stabilized and expected to be OK…
