A restaurant serving Southeast Asian food to folks from two locations over the last five years has decided to end their run. Sambal Chef, a restaurant in Houston’s famed Chinatown neighborhood specializing in Malaysian cuisine, announced its shuttering in a social media post this week.
“After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease,” read the message posted Saturday on Sambal Chef’s Facebook page. “Our last day of business will be June 28, 2026.”
According to the restaurant’s ownership, their property at 6833 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. in Houston was recently sold to a new landlord who has opted to put their own business in their space, suite 103. “As a result, we have decided to close this chapter of Sambal Chef.”…
