A 27-year-old Houston man on Thursday was sentenced to five years in federal prison, months after he was convicted of possessing a machine gun tied to a 2025 gunfight inside a Katy-area McDonald’s that left 61-year-old man dead.
Tyler John Jordan was convicted based on a short social media video posted hours before a different person fired the gun inside the restaurant and killed Jorge Rolando Arbaiza. But U.S. District Judge Alfred H. Bennett called Jordan the first domino that led to the older man’s death.
“You were not the shooter, you were the first domino,” Bennett said. “Had you not gone back into that restaurant with your friends to start that fight, that grandfather would be alive today.”…
