Saharan dust returns to Houston Sunday, rain chances rise midweek

HOUSTON (CW39)- Sharan dust is back in the forecast as we get to peak Saharan dust season, late June through August.

Tonight, the Saharan dust will get to Texas and bring impacts far inland.

Rain chances remain very low for now. Rain chances increase midweek.

The strawberry moon will peak Monday at 6:56 PM Central Time. It looks to be mainly clear skies, but hazy weather is expected.

Saharan dust

The return of the haze. Saharan dust will push north in the Gulf, making its way to Texas late Sunday. The dust plume will be widespread and dense, making its way far inland. There could be multiple impacts to Houston early next week.
