Terry Black’s Barbecue says Houston outpost right around the corner

Black Family Hospitality, the family owned restaurant group behind the famous Austin-based Terry Black’s Barbecue in Texas, officially announced a major growth initiative Thursday. According to a press release, and as previously reported, the group will expand its presence across Texas and Tennessee over the next 18 months while also introducing some new concepts to its portfolio.

But really, the important bit of news Thursday is that Black Family Hospitality provided more details regarding when it would open its Houston location of Terry Black’s: sometime in August. In September, BFH will open another Terry Black’s in New Braunfels, followed by one in December in San Antonio and another in early 2027 in Nashville, Tenn.

As previously reported, a BFH concept called Opal’s Oysters, which was born in Waco, will also head to Nashville.

Terry Black’s has been having a grand old time lately. It unofficially became the mascot for Texas barbecue for out-of-towners and foreign nationals, and especially influencers.
