Nearly 1,000 more homes are coming to Waller as one of the Houston area’s booming suburban frontiers continues to attract developers looking for cheaper land and homebuyers searching for cheaper homes.
A 429-acre community called Wildrye North is planned along the U.S. 290 corridor, where developers say demand for new homes remains strong amid rapid population growth and continued expansion northwest of Houston. 998 homes are expected to be brought to the area, located about 45 miles northwest of downtown Houston near Stokes and Castle roads; the community will be built in three phases, with finished lots sold to national homebuilders. About 300 lots are already under contract, according to the developer.
