Another Texas Roadhouse is headed to the greater Houston area. But its location—up the road on land previously owned by the locally owned steakhouse—had members of the Montgomery community fired up on social media.
This isn’t You’ve Got Mail (steakhouse version), though. Ransom’s Steakhouse & Saloon, the mom and pop restaurant that also developed a nearby master planned community, has already quashed the beef.
“This is old news for us,” Ransom’s said in a Facebook statement. “In fact, as the owners of Ransom’s AND the developers of Buffalo Springs, we sold the land knowing Texas Roadhouse was highly likely several years ago.”
They added that they could have prohibited such a possibility but instead opted to let the community take shape, also acknowledging that the tax revenue from a business like Texas Roadhouse provides “amazing opportunities” for a city Montgomery’s size…
