Texas, Michigan men charged in interstate drug trafficking, money laundering conspiracies

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Three men from Texas and West Michigan are facing at least a decade in prison for their alleged roles in drug trafficking and money laundering conspiracies, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

Lakento Smith, 54, of Houston, Texas, also known as “Beans”; Javon Brewer, 58, of Muskegon Heights, also known as “JB”; and Fletcher Lee Salazar, 40, of Muskegon Heights, also known as “Lee,” were charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan.
