Residents at a Fifth Ward apartment complex have been without power and air conditioning for days as crews work to repair electrical problems at the property, said U.S. Rep. Christian Menefee in a news release Monday afternoon.
Many residents at Rose Plaza Apartments, 3031 Sumpter St., remained without electricity Monday after several days of outages that officials said stemmed from electrical problems on the property. The outage has left residents without air conditioning during Houston’s summer heat, while crews work without a publicly announced restoration time.
“They just don’t treat us right in these apartments,” said Veronica Beasley, who has lived at the apartment complex for 10 years. “And we pay our rent on time.”…
