Lawsuit claims disgraced Houston cop’s lies landed another man in prison for 7 years

A Houston man has filed a new lawsuit against the Houston Police Department and former officer Gerald Goines, alleging the disgraced cop’s lies led to the other man’s wrongful conviction and sent him to prison for seven years.

Byron Prophet filed a civil rights lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas Wednesday, according to court records.
