MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Four convicted felons have been sentenced to serve time in federal prison following a 2025 indictment for firearm and fentanyl sales, according to the Department of Justice.
The DOJ said that the following men have been charged, pleaded guilty and sentenced:
- Fred Buford, 33, of Memphis, TN
- Courtney Hibler, 41, of Memphis, TN
- Frederick Munn, 38, of Memphis, TN
- Larry Smith, aka “Killa” 39, of Houston, TX
All four men pleaded guilty in federal court to multiple charges stemming from firearms sales out of the former Economy Hotel off the 3000 block of Lamar Avenue.
In November 2024, the hotel was shut down by Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit as part of a public nuisance complaint over homicides, drug sales, and gang activity, the DOJ said in a press release.
