Security guard, customer exchange gunfire after argument about dog inside grocery store in Houston’s Chinatown

HOUSTON – Houston police are at the scene of a shooting in the Chinatown area Friday.

The shooting happened in the 9800 block of Bellaire Blvd, near Beltway 8.

According to Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD, the shooting happened a little after 8 p.m. Officers responded to a reported disturbance at the store when he heard gunfire. After calling for backup, the officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Crowson says they believe the customer, an approximately 20-year-old man, and his girlfriend had entered the grocery store with a dog and were confronted by the security guard who told them the dog was not allowed inside due to health concerns…
