Rain and Isolated Thunderstorms Could Hit Houston, Galveston, and Lake Jackson Midday on Halloween Saturday as Euro and American Models Stay Wet

HOUSTON — The latest European and American models are keeping rain in the forecast for southeast Texas next weekend, including Halloween, Saturday, October 31. The newest Euro model run shows rain and even a few thunderstorms around midday on Halloween. The heaviest rain in that run is centered right over the Houston area. The holiday is still about a week away, so details can still change.

Euro Model Shows Midday Rain Over Houston

The latest Euro run shows a band of rain moving across southeast Texas around midday Saturday. The heaviest pocket, shown in yellow and orange, sits over Houston and stretches southwest toward the Brazoria County area. That shading points to moderate to heavy rain and possibly a few thunderstorms.

Another heavier pocket appears near Lake Jackson and the coast north of Galveston. Lighter rain covers a wider area from College Station and La Grange toward Bay City. Arrows on the map show the rain moving northeast across the region.

Rain Spreads Across Southeast Texas

Scattered rain is also shown farther east near Beaumont and along the upper Texas coast. Areas near Lufkin and Jasper show lighter showers in the model. Some spots may see only brief rain, while others could get a steady soaking.

The pattern lines up with earlier outlooks calling for a wetter end to October in Texas. A Moderate Risk of heavy precipitation was also highlighted for parts of central and eastern Texas from October 30 to November 1. That makes Halloween weekend worth watching closely.
