October 27, 2026 – HOUSTON — Texas Children’s Hospital has officially opened the nation’s first dedicated detransition clinic, fulfilling a key condition of a major legal settlement with Texas state officials.
The opening of the new center follows enforcement action led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Under the terms of the resolution, Texas Children’s Hospital agreed to establish and maintain the specialized clinic while paying $10 million in financial penalties and retributions.
