One of Houston’s longest-serving sports anchors is putting money behind the next generation of journalists.
KPRC 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy has established a $30,000 endowed scholarship for broadcast journalism majors at his alma mater, Sam Houston State University, according to a university announcement on Monday. The money will be invested to provide ongoing scholarship funding.
“While at Sam Houston, I saw firsthand some of the struggles students and families go through to pay for college,” McIlvoy said. “It’s not easy and has only grown more difficult to get by.”…
