Walmart store managers in Louisiana shocked by corporate announcement

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – Walmart store managers in Louisiana just received great news from the corporation’s CEO, John Furner. Starting this year, all Walmart Store Managers in Louisiana will receive a stock grant of up to $20,000 yearly.

John Furner made the announcement at a corporate meeting in Houston, Texas.

On Jan. 18, Walmart announced it would invest in store manager pay in Louisiana and across the country. The average store manager’s pay has now increased to $128,000 a year.

The new bonus program allows store managers to earn a yearly bonus worth up to 200% of their salary. The announcement is another step in Walmart’s decision to invest in their employees.

The amount of a store manager’s stock bonus depends on the format of the store they manage. Supercenter store managers receive $20000 in stock per year, Neighborhood Market (or other Division 1 stores) store managers receive $15,000, and Hometown store managers receive $10,000.
