Driver in custody after chase stemming from argument with woman in McDonald’s drive-thru, HPD says

A driver was taken into custody after a police chase on the south side of Houston just before noon on Friday.

Houston police say it started with a petty argument in a McDonald’s drive-through in the 9100 block of Cullen Boulevard. The suspect reportedly felt a woman pulled in too close behind him.

The woman claims the suspect allegedly flashed a gun at her before they rolled down their windows and exchanged words. The man, according to the women, then made a gun motion with his hand before speeding off.

Shortly after, the woman called the police, who came to take a statement. According to police, as officers were taking her report, the suspect returned to the scene but fled after the woman identified him, causing him to speed off and spark the chase.

The driver led the pursuit, and at times, went the wrong way and ran through stop signs. Just before 11 a.m., as officers tried to block the suspect’s vehicle, he crashed into a parked car.
