Family of woman who died in Galveston County jail wants accountability and transparency in investigation

HOUSTON (KIAH) – A local Houston family is demanding answers after their loved one died while in custody at the Galveston County Jail. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Department told CW39 that Brittany Anderson, a 32-year-old mother of five, was found “unresponsive” in a padded cell on Thursday, Feb. 1. They added staff tried giving Anderson CPR and got a pulse before rushing her to the hospital. However, her family believes there is more to the story.
