HOUSTON – A woman is dead, and two others are injured after a single-vehicle crash involving a tree in west Houston overnight. Houston police said the crash happened around 1 a.m. along North Eldridge Parkway, a little south of Interstate 10. Investigators said the driver went off the road and hit a tree. A backseat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a front-seat passenger were taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
