Houston police have arrested Marco Antonio Gonzalez Garcia, 25, in connection with a shooting that injured a man and a woman in the parking lot of a business at 10450 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road around 3:30 p.m.
Gonzalez Garcia has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 351st State District Court.
According to Detective M. Bellahna of the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, officers responded to the scene and found a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
Witnesses reported that the suspect fired at the victims while they were inside a vehicle in the parking lot before fleeing the scene.
Officers later located the suspect’s vehicle at a nearby apartment complex, detaining three individuals. After gathering evidence and witness statements, investigators identified Gonzalez Garcia as the shooter.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office approved the charges, and Gonzalez Garcia was taken into custody.
