HOUSTON, Texas – A fire broke out in a detached residential garage in the Golfcrest/Bellfort/Reveille area on December 16, 2024, causing an estimated $125,000 in damage. No injuries were reported, according to a press release from the Houston Fire Department.Firefighters responded to the scene at the 6800 block of Evans St. at 2:36 p.m. and found the garage engulfed in flames. Crews quickly attacked the fire and checked for any extension to the nearby residence. The fire was extinguished, and it was determined that the cause was a short or overheating of the inverter in an RV camper parked inside the garage. A total of 42 personnel from Stations 26, 46, 35, 36, 9, 24, and Rescue 42 were involved in the response, stated the Houston Fire Department.
