Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early this morning, December 19, 2024, at 2100 Kirby Drive around 3:20 a.m. Two males, aged 20 and 19, died in the crash, and their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to witnesses, the driver of a silver Lexus GX400, with two male passengers, was traveling northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The car struck a curb before hitting a tree. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the back seat passenger, 19, deceased at the scene. The 20-year-old driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The front seat passenger, also 20, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation suggests alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
