NWS: Extended freezing temperatures expected in Southeast Texas from Sunday through Thursday Jan. 9

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Southeast Texas is gearing up for an extended stretch of colder weather, with the highest risk of widespread freezing temperatures occurring Monday and Tuesday nights.

The National Weather Services said that what could probably happen with these freezing temperature is going to occur Sunday night through Wednesday night. That’s when it’s very likely on the local level, we could experience a significant chance of below-freezing temperatures across the region, with below freezing most likely for Monday and Tuesday nights.
Cold temperatures are expected to trend below freezing. The latest forecast has trended slightly cooler compared to earlier predictions, reinforcing the likelihood of sub-freezing conditions in southeast Texas.
