HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — Lawyer Tony Buzbee has temporarily withdrawn as an attorney in the legal fight against hip-hop stars Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z.
The Houston-based attorney said that a grievance filed by Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, alleging that Buzbee was not allowed to practice law in the southern district of New York, where the cases against Combs and Carter are filed.
U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams asked Buzbee to file a letter asking why he didn’t tell the court about this issue and his plans to remedy the situation. The judge said that Buzbee was warned about practicing in some of these cases and could have to explain why he didn’t…
