Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital Welcomes First Baby, Marks New Era in Advanced Maternal Care in Northwest Houston

In a heartwarming twist of fate on St. Patrick’s Day, Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital welcomed its very first baby—bringing a bit of luck and a lot of joy to the brand-new facility. Baby Tatum was born at the state-of-the-art Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at 5:07 p.m. on Monday, March 17, on the hospital’s official grand opening day.

Baby Tatum, born to proud parents Gervase and Terron Ware, weighed in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19.59 inches long. Baby Tatum, the youngest of six siblings, is not only a special addition to his family, but also a symbolic first arrival at a hospital designed to redefine modern maternal and neonatal care.

The Houston Methodist Childbirth Center at Cypress features 21 private birthing suites, including eight neonatal ICU (NICU) rooms, providing advanced care and comfort for mothers and newborns alike.
