Timeline for Friday’s severe storms threats, heavy rain in Houston

There’s a lot happening across the greater Houston area for Friday and some areas could be dealing with some hefty storms as the day wears on.

Here’s a timeline on when to expect downpours as you head out!

Friday Lunchtime:

The first wave of heavier rain looks to fire up around noon with scattered pockets of downpours moving in from the southwest.

The source of these storms is an upper atmosphere low pressure system that is swirling south and west of San Antonio, thus creating an unstable airmass to the east, which is the bulls eye for most of SE Texas for the remainder of the day.

Friday Mid-Afternoon:

If you’re headed out to pick up the kids from school or for an afternoon practice, errands, the hours between 2-4 p.m. could see a few areas with significant heavy downpours…
