Houstonians can celebrate Zydeco at festivals across the region this year with music, dancing and food.
Zydeco music evolved from an acoustic folk idiom known as “la-la” in the 1920s, according to the Texas State Historical Association . The music was unique to Black Creoles originally from rural southwestern Louisiana.
