More than a thousand Houstonians gathered in the city’s East End for the fifth Divine Art Coalition’s Segundo Barrio Block Party — a community gathering that has garnered significant attention, with the crowd at last year’s second party estimated at 2,000.
What began when Diego Noria hired artists to paint murals along Divine Shine, his family-owned car wash at 4400 Canal, has become a staple in the East End community, getting the attention of many local celebrities, such as Big Slim (formerly known as Slim Thug) and That Mexican OT.
