Two Teens Killed in High-Speed Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 6 in Alvin

Two teenagers were killed Monday evening in a high-speed wrong-way collision on State Highway 6, according to the Alvin Police Department.

At approximately 5:23 p.m. on April 28, officers responded to the 2500 block of E State Highway 6 where a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu, traveling westbound in an eastbound lane, collided head-on with a 2006 Jeep Cherokee.

Police said the Malibu, driven by 18-year-old Dejon Tate of Missouri City, was traveling at a high rate of speed in the innermost eastbound lane. Witnesses reported that the vehicle had been driving recklessly, including passing cars in the center-turn lane shortly before the crash…
