HOUSTON — A deadly wreck shut down a portion of the East Freeway shut down well into the evening commute. The freeway reopened at about 6 p.m.
The wreck happened on I-10 westbound at Beltway 8. Drivers heading eastbound were forced off at Dell Dale.
According to Sheriff Gonzalez, a box truck was on the westbound side of the East Freeway when it started to have engine trouble and slowed down to around 15 miles per hour. The driver of a Chevy Silverado truck tried to swerve to avoid the box truck, but ended up hitting it…
