HOUSTON, Texas — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 422 illegal aliens, including 296 criminal aliens, during a seven-day operation aimed at enhancing public safety in the Houston area. The operation, which took place from May 4 to May 10, also resulted in the deportation of 528 individuals, according to ICE.
“In recent years, some of the world’s most dangerous fugitives, transnational gang members, and criminal aliens have taken advantage of the crisis at our nation’s southern border to illegally enter the U.S.,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford. Among those arrested were a 46-year-old from Colombia convicted of homicide, a 40-year-old from Mexico with multiple convictions including arson and aggravated assault, and a 72-year-old from Mexico convicted of homicide and robbery.
The operation prioritized removing aliens who have exhausted due process and been ordered removed from the country.
