Jose Torres Ceja averted his gaze from the on-trial defendant in the Harris County courtroom as he recalled the masked stranger his then-boss brought into his home as his partner cooked and their children played nearby.
He didn’t know then the man concealing his face with a medical mask was Oscar Rosales and that authorities were searching for him in the 2022 shooting death of Precinct 5 constable deputy Charles Galloway.
Ceja remembered the man by his large nose peeking over the cloth as he asked for a new pair of pants, he testified Tuesday. Ceja complied.
