Immigrant Rights Group FIEL Unveils “Education Not Deportation” Banner Over Houston Freeway

HOUSTON (KIAH) — A powerful message demanding change was displayed high above the Southwest Freeway Thursday evening as immigrant rights group FIEL and their supporters dropped a massive banner that read “Education Not Deportation.”

The peaceful demonstration took place on the Dunlavy Bridge from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., drawing attention to immigration reform and access to education for undocumented students. The event featured a 50-foot-long banner as a visual statement to local drivers and passersby.
