10-year-old boy writes thank-you note to Life Flight crew for saving his life

HOUSTON (KIAH) — A young patient wrote a thank-you note to the Life Fight team from a Houston hospital that saved his life after a near-drowning accident.

Gavin Thayer, a 10-year-old from Kountze, also got to meet the Memorial Hermann Flight Team at the hospital and got to go back into the chopper that he was on.

On Memorial Day Weekend, Thayer, who has Asperger’s syndrome which is a form of autism, jumped into a relative’s pool in Baytown. His parents told Gavin not to go into the pool, but when no one was looking, he jumped into the pool anyways…
