Police: 33-year-old man dies after shooting involving officers in New Braunfels

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 33-year-old Spring, Texas man died after a disturbance escalated to a shooting involving police officers in New Braunfels Saturday, according to a city of New Braunfels news release.

Two officers with the New Braunfels Police Department responded to a report of that disturbance between a man and a woman around 4:15 p.m. at the Sage Apartments, which is located in the 2500 block of West San Antonio Street, according to the city.

During the response, the man “brandished a sharp weapon and began lunging in the officers’ direction, prompting them to fire their department issued service weapons, striking the suspect.”…
