HOUSTON (KIAH) — According to FBI Houston officials, federal agencies are currently investigating the death of a passenger on a cruise ship. The reports state that the incident occurred onboard the Carnival Dream before it was scheduled to depart from the Port of Galveston on Wednesday, July 23.
FBI Houston Public Affairs Officer Connor Hagan confirmed with CW39 Houston that the agency is aware of the Carnival Dream incident and said an FBI Maritime Liaison Agent based out of the Texas City Resident Agency is currently coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the cruise line to investigate the incident.
According to Hagan, the FBI is the primary agency authorized to investigate potential crimes on the high seas and due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, he was not able to provide additional details at this time…
