A man accused in the shooting death of 9-year-old Arlene Alvarez during a 2022 robbery has been indicted on a manslaughter charge — more than a year after Harris County prosecutors under a different administration secured a more serious charge against him.
Tony Earls was indicted Wednesday in Arlene’s death, according to court records. Documents in the case were not immediately available and officials with the district attorney’s office declined to discuss the case in detail.
