HOUSTON (KIAH)–Thanks to a partnership between the City of Houston, the Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation and Cloudbreak Communities, a newly, redeveloped apartment will open to Fifth Ward Residents.
The development, St. Elizabeth Place Apartments is what the city calls a ‘landmark adaptive reuse project’ that will transform the historic hospital site known as St. Elizabeth Hospital into 85 apartment units. Senior Project Coordinator at Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation, Harvey Clemmons says,” ·One of the things that we said when we started the Fifth Ward Community redevelopment 37 years ago is that we were not trying to create the Fifth Ward of yesterday, we tried to create the Fifth Ward of tomorrow.”
