HPD searching for suspect in stabbing death of 77-year-old man in Second Ward

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing death of a 77-year-old man that happened early Thursday morning in Houston’s Second Ward.

Police said that officers responded to a stabling incident at the 120 block of North Drennan Street just before 6 a.m. Thursday. They found a 77-year-old man with a stab wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was later declared dead.

Officers were told the victim was riding his bike to work on a nearby bike trail when the suspect came out from behind a fence and stabbed the victim. The victim reached his workplace and called 911.
