Alan Lipman has called Meyerland home since 1966, growing up in his parents’ house a block away from the old Meyerland Club. He moved back to the neighborhood before he got married and eventually bought a house with his wife where they’ve lived ever since.
While the couple has been a neighborhood constant for decades, Lipman says they’re now considering leaving.
“We do not feel comfortable driving down Braesvalley (Drive), even in the day, and definitely not in the dark,” he said. “The shopping center we used to like to go to, with a drug store and grocery store … We don’t go anymore.”…
