Houston authorities are on the job, piecing together the details of a highway tragedy that unfolded on 7300 North Loop East. A 26-year-old man, whose name has yet to be disclosed pending family notification, met a fatal end in an incident that spiraled from strange to deadly.
The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division outlined the sequence of events: the young man was seen running on the freeway around 1:30 p.m. Traffic ground to the halt, at which point, he made the ill-fated decision to leap into the bed of a brown Ford F350. When the traffic resumed, the driver of the Ford, unaware or unable to handle the human cargo, aimed to exit the freeway.
